There's absolutely nothing I enjoy more than reimagining a classic jazz standard! The process of infusing fresh interpretations into these timeless pieces breathes new life into the music, allowing it to resonate in exciting and unexpected ways. I love exploring new tempos, harmonies, and rhythms that can transform the familiar into something uniquely mine. However, there are certain standards that I would never dream of altering, as they hold an iconic status for me. These particular pieces, with their rich history and emotional depth, deserve to be preserved just as they are, cherished for their original beauty and the profound impact they've had on the jazz genre.

Science teacher by day, Jazz singer by night
Well, I have always had a love of singing since my school days. Thanks to my inspirational music director Peter Broadbent, I was able to experience, as part of a choir, the joy of performing at the International Eisteddfod music competitions as well as singing in the Concert House in Vienna.
As I have grown older singing in choirs has always remained a passion of mine. However about 20 years ago I had a need for a change, something different and a friend of mine introduced me to a jazz singing Summer school. Since that moment I have not looked back!!
